Mighty Patch
Hydrocolloid Acne Pimple Patch for Covering Zits and Blemishes, Spot Stickers for Face and Skin, Vegan-friendly: Mighty Patch Original from Hero Cosmetics
I wish I had known about these pimple patches when I was a teenager because I swear by them for clearing up my acne overnight.
- Acne scars become considerably smaller and less inflamed as a result of hydrocolloid patches' ability to absorb pus from pimples.
- I've tried a few different patch brands, and Mighty Patch has shown to be the most effective.
- Even now, years after I first learned about the brand, I frequently purchase them for myself. They are a clean, efficient overnight treatment for skin that is prone to acne.
I've tried a variety of therapies for acne over the past ten years, from extraction facials and laser treatments to specialized face cleansers and oral antibiotics. Some are quite effective over the long run but quite pricey, such as acne extractions. Others have caused my skin to become drier or even led to new outbreaks. The hydrocolloid patch is the only treatment that truly provides short-term comfort; I only wish I had tried it sooner.
The painful (both literally and emotionally) breakouts that always occur the night before a big event like an interview or a date are best treated with hydrocolloid patches, which were originally intended for wounds.
How acne patches made of hydrocolloid work
By attracting water and absorbing substances like pus, these patches cause your pimples to practically drain everything the next day. I'm a stronger believer in a newer brand's hydrocolloid product: Hero Cosmetics' Mighty Patch, which has a 4.5-star rating and more than 90,000 Amazon reviews. COSRX was one of the first hydrocolloid patch brands, garnering raving reviews from other media sites like Buzzfeed and Refinery29 and a 4.6-star rating from 25,000+ Amazon reviews.
Review of Mighty Patch
Each Mighty Patch Original hydrocolloid patch is 12mm across, or less than a penny, and is available in 36- or 72-count packs. There are additional Surface patches for huge pimple clusters and Invisible variants that are thinner and harder to spot. They function best on pimples that are filled with liquid or pus and have a clear whitehead.
I apply the patches immediately to the blemishes that suit this description after showering and drying my face, then I wait for them to work their magic. Depending on the pimple, I may have immediate benefits after only a few hours. I sometimes use them overnight when they take longer to take effect
The outcome is a little disgusting, but strangely satisfying: the sticker becomes white from the pus it has absorbed.
After adding a sticker, there is a noticeable difference that is not just aesthetic. Each time, my pimples significantly lessened in size and discomfort. They always function so beautifully, which astounds me. I've been slapping them all over my face every night for the past couple of years, as well as when I go to work in the morning.
Drawbacks of Mighty Patch
The biggest disadvantage of these patches is that if you wear them (the original product) in public, they may be seen. The business created Invisible patches, which are less obvious and easier to miss, as a remedy (see our review here).
Since Hero Cosmetics' easy-peel sheet design tears the entire sheet into thirds, it should be easier to remove pimple patches from the sheet without wrinkling or folding them if you're a beginner.
Benefits of Mighty Patch you didn't expect.
These hydrocolloid patches have the added virtue of keeping wandering, impatient fingers from touching and plucking pimples. Everyone with acne has heard several times and knows from personal experience that picking causes irritation and scarring, but it can be difficult to resist the urge to do so. The patches diminish your blemish while shielding the region from contact with dirty hands and pillows.
Mighty Patch in comparison to COSRX and other rivals
In order to evaluate the performance of Mighty Patch and the COSRX patches I also purchased for myself; I was shocked to discover that Mighty Patch was significantly more effective. Multiple sizes of COSRX hydrocolloid patches are available, and they are less expensive than Mighty Patch. They rarely absorbed as much liquid as the Mighty Patch stickers, and they frequently fell off my face as I slept.
I've tried several different patches in addition to COSRX, such as the adorable (but ultimately ineffectual) Starface Hydro-Stars and No B.S. Healing Acne Patches, but they consistently fell short of Mighty Patch.
Even though Mighty Patch is more expensive, I'd much prefer to choose the solution that truly delivers. In April 2018, the business provided me free samples to review, but ever since, I've frequently purchased them for myself, and they've grown to be a crucial component of my skin-care routine.
The conclusion
I've struggled with acne since I was a teenager, and while I now regret not trying these gentle, non-invasive, and non-drying hydrocolloid patches sooner, I still firmly believe in their effectiveness. As straightforward stickers, they require little upkeep and are simple enough to fit into your luggage for on-the-go use.
I'm loading up on Mighty Patch products in particular because they consistently demonstrate that they are the best available.
